Overview
Gresham Household of Faith is “Uniting church and home for the benefit of both.” That simply means we have restored the important responsibilities that God entrusted to the Christian home to their rightful owners. This allows us to focus our time and effort as a local church on being and doing what the church is intended to do— equip God’s people for their works of service to God and one another.
Since our founding in 1998 we have grown into a “cluster” of congregations and local churches in the Metro Area of Portland, Oregon. At Gresham HOF our goal is to equip every Christian to serve God as an Ambassador for Christ. Every member’s household is intended to be an embassy of the kingdom of God where others can taste and see that the Lord is good.
We believe that the Bible is the only rule of faith and practice for Christ’s church. Therefore we endeavor to bring our local church into line with the doctrine and the example of the early church described in the New Testament. We call these our Essential Reforms.
A big part of the Gresham HOF adventure is to bring back together several major areas of sound Bible doctrine that have drifted apart and into separate denominations over the years. We are Reformed in Doctrine, Charismatic in Ministry and Evangelical in Mission. By reuniting these three truths into one local church we come closer to the New Testament model than would ever be possible otherwise. You may read an article on this idea HERE.
